Ekklesia is an 8-10 week summer discipleship program for 18-35 year olds hosted by Armored Outreach. Ekklesia is held in Sweet Springs, MO in the old school building. In the Greek, Ekklesia means 'a called out assemby', the Church. The purpose of Ekklesia is to give young adults an opportunity to escape the norm of society and spend the summer pursuing intimacy with Jesus Christ. Each semester the students spend time diving in to the Word of God, serving in ministry, and learning to live in community. The hope is that students will come out of the semester with a growing relationship with Jesus and will follow Him in obedience to what He has called their life to.

 

Normally our summer program has 8-12 guys who live together in a guys dorm with an RA and 8-12 girls who live in together in a girls dorm with an RA.

 

A typical day (Monday - Friday) normally looks something like:

 

7:00am - Wake up and personal time with the Lord / Breakfast

8:00am - Small group time (guys with guys and girls with girls)

9:00am - Class all together (this is more of a teaching style class instead of the small groups that are more discussion based)

12:00pm - Lunch

1:00 - 6:00pm - Service time (we are assigned to different tasks throughout the community to work and serve together)

            in areas such as:

                -on a local farm     

                -building projects on campus  and/or in houses in the community

                -in the coffee / yogurt shop

                -at the local church in town

                -on campus

6:30pm - Dinner

8:00pm - Group activities and/or individual free time

11:00pm - Lights out

Weekends vary

 

The summer cost is $1,800 

    This cost includes:

        - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner for every day of summer semester

        - All rent/utilities for the summer semester

 

    Any additional snacks are covered by the individual student
